Corporate Counsel

In her role as Metaldyne’s corporate counsel, Ms. O’Connor is responsible for managing the legal affairs of Metaldyne LLC.

This responsibility includes advising senior management regarding commercial, corporate, regulatory, intellectual property, real estate, environmental, and other legal issues, as well as managing the company’s litigation. She chairs the Metaldyne Intellectual Property Committee and is a member of the Metaldyne Policy Board.

Prior to Metaldyne LLC, Ms. O’Connor served as Corporate Counsel to Metaldyne Corporation, the company whose majority assets were bought by Metaldyne LLC in October 2009. Ms. O’Connor played a key role in the successful bond tender offer in late 2008 as well as its bankruptcy filing and subsequent asset sales in late 2009.

Before joining Metaldyne in 2007, Ms. O’Connor worked for several organizations, including the United States Army Office of the Staff Judge Advocate. She also volunteered for the Child Youth Services Division of the Office of the Attorney General of Michigan.

Ms. O’Connor has a law degree from University of Detroit Mercy, where she graduated cum laude. She also has a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

She is based at Metaldyne’s corporate headquarters in Plymouth, Michigan.
