Metaldyne Sells Hamburg, Michigan Plant
Plymouth Mich. – April 8, 2010 – Metaldyne, LLC today announced it has finalized the sale of the Tubular Products facility in Hamburg, Michigan to Hyspan Precision Products of Chula Vista, California. The sale includes certain assets and certain liabilities related to the operations at the Hamburg plant. The sale is effective immediately.
The Hamburg plant provides exhaust manifolds, exhaust down pipes, and a number of other tubularbased components for automotive/truck, military, and service part applications. Annual sales of Tubular Products are approximately $18 million.
Hyspan is a designer and manufacturer of flexible tubular metal products, with forming and welding of tubes as core to their production capabilities. Concurrent with the transaction between Hyspan and Metaldyne, Hyspan will sell the assets to manufacture tubular components for certain customer programs to Benteler Automotive, one of the largest producers of fabricated exhaust manifolds in North America.
